Robinson R66 - A Helicopter to be Reckoned With? You could bet everything you have on this one and sleep good at night. To bad Robinson Helicopter Company is not publicly traded, I'd put everything I have in their stock. This has been in the wind for a while but now it is official. If Frank Robinson and his company continue with tradition, the new R66 will be a quality aircraft priced fairly, and will again claim a market that has been ignored or over-priced just as the R22 and the R44 have done for the last 28 and 14 years respectively. If I was in the market for a light turbine helicopter, I would be in line with an order site-unseen and confident as I am sure there are already hundreds. Frank Robinson has soundly demonstrated what a man with a vision can accomplish. He and his company has also demonstrated a level and quality of support and a commitment to safety which is unparalleled. Other manufacturers may have ignored a market niche that Robinson helicopters have been filling up to now, but this will surely make them sit up and take note. If I was a betting man, (really I am), I would bet that this aircraft will have the best of many worlds. I can't wait to fly it! I will add to this article as information becomes available.
